Who would have thought we'd make it this far? Sure, it's not uncommon for a happy young couple in their 30's to manage to get pregnant and make it just 12 days out from their 1st baby's due date, but when it's happening to you, when you're in the moment, when you hear your doctor mutter the words, "yep, 1.5 cm dilated", when the nursery is finally complete (at month 9), and when you feel that little bandit do a little dance between your ribs, it does finally hit you. The incredible bundle of joy and Morgan-made bun that's been baking for nearly 40 weeks now (yes, 10 months, not the proverbial 9) is prepped to make his premiere. And what great adventures lie before us: labor, delivery, first day at home, nursing, meeting family and friends, napping, crying, cooing, changing, smiling, laughing, grasping. We'll soak it all in, cherish every waking moment (literally), and be the best parents we can be. Get ready, little bandit - you're in for a crazy ride.
